2005年8月25日。

这一天，是亚迪斯亚贝巴市一个喜庆的日子，也是星河建材公司发展史上一个值得记忆的日子。

天公作美，这是个风和日丽的晴天。

坐落在亚迪斯亚贝巴市郊的“中国星河秸秆厂”，这一天成了众望所归的地方。远远望去，这里像过节一样，彩旗飞飘，花团锦簇，人声鼎沸，车队成行。一支穿精神饱满戴整齐的军乐队，肃立在中国和埃塞俄比亚国旗下，奏着中国和埃国的国歌；无数国内外的记者扛着摄像机、抱着照相机等待在工厂大门口，等待着总统和其他政府官员到来；埃国富有民族特色的鼓乐队，敲打着节奏高亢铿锵的民族鼓乐；一队队埃族少男少女穿着民族的盛装，在草地上载歌载舞，人群中不断传来一阵阵欢声笑语。

这里成了花的海洋、歌的海洋、欢乐的海洋。

走到近处，标着中埃两国文字的“中国星河秸秆厂落成剪彩仪式”的横幅，悬挂在新建成的厂房上。工厂前边的空地上，是用绿绸搭成的庆典主席台。

上午9时许，当身穿银白色西装、头戴白色帽子、神采奕奕的总统吉尔玛在国务部长、建设部长、环境部长等人陪同下走下汽车，走进会场时，军乐鼓点顿时齐鸣，全场响起热烈的掌声。吉尔玛总统在他们国家享有崇高的威望，当地居民听说他们总统来到了这里，远山近岭都站满了欢呼的人群。吉尔玛总统听见人们的欢呼声，他不时停下脚步，向远近的人群挥手致意。我驻埃大使林琳等大使馆官员、星河公司周兴和等人早就等在了这里，见吉尔玛总统准时到来，立即迎了上去。

总统今天心情很好。他见到林琳大使和周兴和，抢先两步走上前来，和蔼地与他们握手。当阿可贝部长向他介绍周兴和时，吉尔玛总统通过翻译告诉他们，他感谢中国企业在他们这里投资建厂，给埃国人民带来幸福和吉祥。随后，在众人簇拥下，总统走进工厂车间，参观了已建成的厂房和安装好的设备，查看了工厂试制出来的产品，并仔细观看了产品生产的工艺过程。在整个过程中，他脸上始终带着欣慰的微笑。不时他又停下脚步，向身边的周兴和询问有关产品原材料来源、产品种类、产品产量，以及工厂投产后还有些什么困难等。周兴和一一向总统作了解释和说明。

“好好好。”吉尔玛总统听着周兴和给他讲的情况，他不断点头，连声说好，并不时回头向阿可贝他们交代着什么。

参观结束，在军乐队奏响的迎宾曲中，吉尔玛总统和贵宾们走上主席台。10时30分，剪彩仪式正式开始。

仪式由埃国务部长阿可贝主持。

周兴和在仪式上首先致欢迎辞。他在致辞中，感谢埃国政府、驻埃中国大使馆对星河建材落户埃国给予的支持和帮助，感谢埃国政府和人民对中国人民的深情厚谊，同时简单介绍了自己专利在国内外获奖、在国内外使用的情况，以及星河建材厂在埃建成后，将产生的社会、经济和环保效益，并展望了星河建材在埃发展的前景。

周兴和饱含深情的讲话，引来会场阵阵掌声。

我驻埃大使馆林琳大使也发表了热情洋溢的讲话。他说：中埃两国同属发展中国家，帮助非洲人民的发展是我们义不容辞的责任。中国人民历来是非洲人民的朋友，更是埃塞俄比亚人民的朋友，两国人民在长期的交往中，建立了兄弟般的友谊。今天，中国星河建材在埃成功落户，就是两国人民友谊的最好见证。埃国根据自己的国情，从中国引进成熟的秸秆建材生产技术，中国星河公司在这里投资建厂，即将投入生产，这是一件可喜可贺的事情。星河建材是绿色环保建材，在非洲有着广阔的发展应用前景。埃国政府这一有远见的决策，将能更有效地利用这里废弃的资源，解决城乡人民住房、人民就业增收、推进工业化进程，为人民造福。

林琳大使最后说：“今天，埃塞俄比亚走在了在非洲引进应用星河建材的前列——吉尔玛总统今天亲自出席剪彩仪式，说明了埃政府对这个建设项目的高度重视。我相信，星河建材一定能在埃国生根发芽开花结果，成为两国政治和经济合作的典范，为两国的传统友谊增光添彩！……”

在热烈的掌声中，吉尔玛总统走到麦克风前，发表了他的致辞。他说：中国人民历来是埃塞俄比亚人民的朋友，特别是近年来，随着中国经济速猛发展，国际地位不断提高，对非洲人民支援力度也越来越大。在电信、铁路、水电、矿产等方面都给予埃国很大的帮助和支援。对于引进星河建材全套技术和设备，在埃建厂生产新型建材，埃政府十分重视和支持。为什么呢？因为这种建材适应我国社会的发展，能产生巨大的社会、经济和环保效应；还因为星河公司技术成熟可靠，合作诚实守信。今天，星河建材在埃建成投产，这是一个值得高兴和庆祝的事情！我相信，星河建材在埃大有用武之地，大有发展的前景，能够造福于埃塞俄比亚人民！

最后，吉尔玛总统举起右手，提高了声音，用一句简单明了的话结束了他的致辞：“我相信，这项专利技术可以改变非洲建材的命运！”

致辞结束，吉尔玛总统、林琳大使和周兴和等人走下主席台，在一个礼仪小姐的引领下，来到草地上。几个仪态万方、穿着白色衣裙的埃族礼仪小姐牵着的白色彩带，站在主席台前。一位小姐端来一个红色的托盘，向吉尔玛总统、林琳大使和周兴和分别送上剪刀。几个人拿起剪刀，相互对视一下，一起剪断了面前的彩带！

顿时，会场上军乐声、鼓点声、欢呼声、鼓掌声响成一片；一群群放飞的鸽子，呼啸着掠过人们的头顶，带着两国人民和平与友谊的期冀，冲向蓝天，远远飞去，渐渐不见踪影……

“周兴和先生，欢迎你到我的家来做客。”临走，吉尔玛总统与周兴和握手告别时，通过翻译这样告诉他。

“谢谢。”周兴和闻言有点喜出望外，他回答总统，“等我们的项目在这里取得完全成功时，我一定到府上去拜望您。”

当天，在埃国影响最大的国家新闻报上，吉尔玛总统出席星河建材厂剪彩仪式的消息以头版头条刊出，连美国副总统对埃国国事访问的新闻也放在了这条消息的后面。中国新华社记者也在现场采访了吉尔玛总统和周兴和，并在国内报纸上发表了《星河现象的思考》的评论，引起国内外建材行业极大关注。

this day was a happy day in addis ababa city, and also a memorable day in the history of the development of xinghe building materials company.

the weather was fine. it was a beautiful sunny day.

located in the suburb of addis ababa, china xinghe straw factory, from a distance, was like to have a festival here, with colorful flags flying, flowers blossoming, crowds rumbling, and motorcade in a line. a vigorous and well-dressed military band stood under the national flags of china and ethiopia, playing the national anthems of china and ethiopia. journalists at home and abroad with cameras on their shoulders waited at the factory gates for the president and other government officials to arrive. the drum band with national characteristics of ethiopia was beating the sonorous national drum music with high rhythm. teams of ethiopian boys and girls dressed in their national costumes were singing and dancing on the grass, and there were waves of laughter from the crowd.
